We work with our Associates on an individual basis to support and cultivate their professional development. Our Professional Development Director, a seasoned attorney, assists in establishing career goals, identifying and pursuing community service activities, and maintaining a professional path from which to grow as a practitioner. Members of our Marketing Team also serve as another key resource for our Associates to pursue their professional and civic goals. Partners of the firm not only serve as mentors to our Associates, they routinely participate in educational training programs available to all.

As part of our commitment to professional practice growth and development, the firm engages in formal and informal training and social and educational events which occur throughout the year. We have formalized this commitment by establishing AdvanceU at Phillips Lytle.

AdvanceU is Phillips Lytle’s comprehensive program for professional development and Continuing Legal Education. All training at the firm is conducted under one of AdvanceU’s three distinct divisions to provide specialized courses to facilitate practice, enhance expertise and deepen awareness of the many skills that contribute to success as a practitioner. Training is offered through AdvanceU’s Skills, Practice Essentials and Business Development divisions. AdvanceU provides opportunities for learning through in-house CLE programs, informal training sessions, and access to courses through the Phillips Lytle / ALI-ABA Knowledge Portal.

Phillips Lytle is accredited by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as a provider of Continuing Legal Education to attorneys. For more than a decade, we have had a CLE program that allows our Associates to learn from highly skilled attorneys within the firm and beyond. We also have the benefit of the firm’s in-office courtroom, equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Phillips Lytle has also partnered with ALI-ABA to provide our attorneys with direct access to a broad range of ALI-ABA learning tools, CLE programs and other materials. Through the Phillips Lytle / ALI-ABA Knowledge Portal at AdvanceU, our attorneys can view webcasts, telephone seminars and online CLE programs and access ALI-ABA’s extensive resource library.
