The conference will be at the State University of New York at Binghamton and will bring together investors, companies, and professionals from around the state to learn about how to start and grow their own companies.

  • On Monday, September 25, David P. Flynn Partner, Phillips Lytle LLP, and part of the firm’s Environment and Energy Group – will present at the Nanotechnology 2006 Conference. The international conference will take place at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and will bring together leading experts from industry, academia and government to discuss trends, myths, realities and highlight future areas of commercial potential. Flynn’s presentation will focus on nanotechnology and emerging environmental issues. As part of the firm’s Environment and Energy Group, Flynn’s practice is concentrated in the areas of environmental law and energy. With respect to environmental law, Flynn concentrates on regulatory compliance consultations and brownfield redevelopment.   • On Friday, September 8, Richard E. Honen - Partner, Phillips Lytle, LLP and Co-Chair of the Capital and Innovation Group – will present at a one-day conference at Albany Law School called "In the Aftermath of Enron: Legal Issues and Strategies in Mergers and Acquisitions." The conference will examine the complex arena of global mergers and acquisitions, where no single agency has authority and no single set of rules apply, leaving managers to negotiate through state laws relating to incorporation and labor, and federal securities regulations, antitrust and tax laws. Leaders from the legal and business communities will discuss risk, taxes, financing the transaction, ERISA and benefits issues, and more. Mr. Honen’s presentation will focus on the actual financing of the transaction.
